Module Description:

In this introductory module, you will learn about Instructional Systems Design models as part of the major instructional design frameworks, ADDIE and Agile. These frameworks will ensure effective learning experiences in both corporate and academic settings. We will review emergent practices in learning experience design that will be immediately applicable to the analysis that you will complete as a portfolio-ready assignment.

Module Learning Objectives:

Module learning objectives are subject to change based on programmatic updates.

  1. Write clear, attainable, and actionable instructional goals and objectives for learning experiences.
  2. Complete a learner persona.
  3. Differentiate among instructional design frameworks: ADDIE, SAM (agile).
  4. Design and peer review a Needs Analysis document.
  5. Create a personalized digital portfolio online.

Program Description:

The certificate in Instructional Design for Learning aims to develop individuals with skills and knowledge to step into the field as instructional designers. The non-credit micro-credentials are meant to serve as rigorous, skill-based, applied, five to six month offerings taught by practitioners in the field. Certificate students will develop workforce-ready instructional design skills through the development of a portfolio demonstrating their competency in instructional design.

Timeline and Requirements:

The module will take place from October 2nd, 2023 - March 29th, 2024. Work will primarily be asynchronous, with one live session per module with your facilitator and your cohort during the third Wednesday of the module from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

Fees & Policies:

Payment is due by credit card at registration. This module can only be taken as part of the Foundational Certificate: Instructional Design For Learning. Registration closes October 1st at 11:55pm. Refunds will be granted only up until registration closes. No refunds will be granted for registration or technical errors on the participant's part (such as incorrect name/email, login failure, etc.).

Presenter:

Nina Araújo has over 20 years of experience in education, technology program development, learning experience design and management. She enjoys creating learning experiences that transform the teaching and learning processes into successful designs that impact lives. Her expertise includes instructional design, creating user personas, scenario scripts, storyboards, and module wireframes for Articulate 360, as well as working directly with the subject matter experts to develop course content, and quality assurance. She taught at Northeastern University for ten years and has also produced courses for scaled delivery on platforms like Skillshare.
